CCID's 48th Annual Conference will be held in Hilton Head, SC, February 23-26, 2024. At the conference, CCID will be hosting presentations, workshops and panel discussions.
The Call for Proposals is for two types of presentations: Faculty Forum and Concurrent Sessions.
The Faculty Forum will feature a panel of colleagues presenting on innovative ways to promote international and intercultural learning. Presentations are 10 minutes each followed by 10-minute facilitated breakout sessions. The Faculty Forum includes group discussion and networking opportunities. Faculty Forum proposals should be one presenter. Date: February 23, 2024
Concurrent Session proposals should provide information about a topic with time for Q&A. Presenters should plan on a total of 45 minutes for their session. Concurrent sessions can have multiple presenters. Dates: February 24-25, 2024
Tracks:
We invite conference attendees to submit session proposals that address one of the following professional development tracks:
Internationalizing the Curriculum/Global Studies
Sourcing international curricula, internationalizing curriculum and assessments, comparative analysis of different cultural viewpoints, engaging diverse classrooms
Online International Education (curricular, co-curricular)
Virtual exchange, using EdTech to broaden curricula and strengthen student engagement, virtual internships, leveraging community engagement online
Sustainability & Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Mapping curricula to the SDGs, climate education (environmental and social), ethical community engagement, advocacy, carbon accounting, making the case for academic travel
Language Curriculum
World languages and socio-linguistic awareness, achieving verbal and written fluency, the interrelationship between language and culture, critical languages/geo-politics
English as a Second Language
Best practice pedagogy, including assessments, lesson plans, scaffolding, activities, peer learning, project-based learning and empathy
Education Abroad
Risk management, advising, curriculum integration, intercultural competency, experiential learning, capacity-building, funding models, pre-departure and re-entry orientations, assessment
International Student Recruitment & Retention
Recruitment and agents, onboarding and critical support, credit transfer, JEDI synergy and inclusion, risk management and cultural translations with campus personnel, OPT and CPT, visas
The deadline to re-submit a proposal for the 2024 CCID Annual Conference, is November 30, 2023.
Presenters must be registered by December 8, 2023.
